Duration: 1 day (9:00 am to 5:00 pm)
Eligible Participants: Non-Healthcare Persons, Medical Undergraduates, Nursing professionals, Allied Health Science professionals, and Physiotherapy professionals
Venue: VASA, Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Nallurhalli, Bangalore
Objectives of the First Aid Workshop
At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
a) Assess and provide first aid to a patient with:
- Medical emergencies: Asthma, heart attack, paralysis, etc.
- Trauma emergencies: Burns, fractures, head injury, electric shock, etc.
- Environmental emergencies: Snake bites, heat and cold exposure, poisoning, etc.
b) Provide high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation to a patient with cardiac arrest.
Certificates
Participants will receive Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Emergencies Management workshop completion certificates from VASA.

First Aid Training Workshop Agenda
Day 1:
- 9:00 am to 9:15 am: Registration and Pre-test
- 9:15 am to 9:45 am: VIDA visit
- 9:45 am to 11:00 am: Presentation and Practice – First aid kit contents, Approach to patient/ Patient assessment and calling for help/ CPR practice.
- 11:00 am to 12:30 pm: Presentation and Practice – Medical Emergencies (Chest pain, Asthma, Allergies and Anaphylaxis, Stroke, Diabetes mellitus, etc.)
- 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm: Scenario on Chest pain/Anaphylaxis
- 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm: Lunch
- 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm: Presentation and Practice – Trauma Emergencies
(Head injury, burns, bleeding and shock, drowning, fracture – splinting and bandaging, impaled objects, foreign body in eye, ear, nose, and throat.) - 2:45 pm to 3:45 pm: Presentation and Practice – Environmental and Toxicology Emergencies (Animal bites, snake bites, scorpion stings, bee stings, heat illnesses, and poisoning).
- 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm: Practice skills and Scenario – Fracture with bleeding and shock
- 4:45 pm to 5:00 pm: Post-test
