Day 1
Morning Session (9:00 AM – 1:00 PM):
- Introduction to First Aid:
- The Chain of Survival and its importance in emergency response.
- Recognizing and responding to emergencies effectively.
- Common myths and misconceptions surrounding first aid.
- Lectures and Discussions:
- Breathing difficulties: Asthma, severe allergies, and choking.
- Chest pain emergencies: Heart attack, low blood sugar, and stroke.
- Sudden changes in consciousness: Fainting, seizures, and cardiac arrest.
- Hands-on Practice Session 1:
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for adults and children using manikins.
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use for adults and children with manikins.
- Lunch Break
Afternoon Session (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
- Lectures and Discussions:
- Bleeding and shock management.
- Wound care, fractures, and sprains.
- Head injuries, back/spinal injuries, and burns.
- Environmental emergencies: Electrocution, heatstroke, and near drowning.
- Snake bites, insect bites, and poisoning (general awareness).
- Hands-on Practice Session 2:
- Practice applying bandages and dressings for various wound types.
- Role-playing scenarios for common first-aid emergencies to reinforce learned skills and build confidence in applying them in real-world situations.
