First-Aid Workshop Agenda

Day 1

  • Morning Session (9:00 AM – 1:00 PM):

    • Introduction to First Aid:
      • The Chain of Survival and its importance in emergency response.
      • Recognizing and responding to emergencies effectively.
      • Common myths and misconceptions surrounding first aid.
    • Lectures and Discussions:
      • Breathing difficulties: Asthma, severe allergies, and choking.
      • Chest pain emergencies: Heart attack, low blood sugar, and stroke.
      • Sudden changes in consciousness: Fainting, seizures, and cardiac arrest.
    • Hands-on Practice Session 1:
      • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for adults and children using manikins.
      • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use for adults and children with manikins.
    • Lunch Break

    Afternoon Session (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM)

    • Lectures and Discussions:
      • Bleeding and shock management.
      • Wound care, fractures, and sprains.
      • Head injuries, back/spinal injuries, and burns.
      • Environmental emergencies: Electrocution, heatstroke, and near drowning.
      • Snake bites, insect bites, and poisoning (general awareness).
    • Hands-on Practice Session 2:
      • Practice applying bandages and dressings for various wound types.
      • Role-playing scenarios for common first-aid emergencies to reinforce learned skills and build confidence in applying them in real-world situations.
